New from international assembling distributor PEI-Genesis is the Amphenol PPS series of locking miniature push/pull connectors, which are machined from brass to provide an increased mechanical durability compared with traditional aluminium connectors.

Suitable for industrial and military harsh-environment applications, these RoHS-compliant connectors are available with either black silver or electroless nickel plating and can be specified with up to seven 22 AWG gold-plated, turned contacts.

The PPS series includes in-line receptacles, chassis-mount receptacles in jam-nut or 2-hole mounting styles, and a standard plug supplied complete with backshell and optional crimp ferrules. Also available are accessories such as dust caps, heatshrink boots and a crimping tool.

Featuring push-to-mate latching operation for high reliability, the connectors can be quickly released by pulling back the coupling nut. The PPS connectors are rated for a minimum of 1000 matings and have an operating temperature range of -55 to +85degC.
