Avionics connectors assembled in 48 hours

PEI-Genesis has added ITT Cannon's BKA series ARINC 600 rack-and-panel connectors to its product range and is now offering them with a 48-hour assembly service.

Extensively used in commercial and military avionics systems, ARINC 600 connectors provide a high-density, high-reliability interface between the airframe and equipment packages for applications such as traffic collision avoidance systems, engine indicator crew alert systems and airborne information management systems.

PEI-Genesis now holds stocks of piece-parts to build over 10,000 different BKA connector configurations, enabling it to satisfy almost any customer requirement in the shortest possible time. In particular, the company can assemble the connectors in accordance with both Airbus and Boeing BACC66 specifications.

Featuring a low-insertion-force design, the BKA series connectors ensure that equipment can be installed quickly and easily, even under blind mating conditions. Shock and vibration performance complies with requirements of MIL-STD-1344.

The connectors can be specified with an alodine or electroless nickel finish and are available in four different shell sizes. A choice of more than 35 different inserts includes both removable and non-removable versions, while an optional EMI grounding spring on the plug shell provides a typical shielding effectiveness of 63dB.

Able to accommodate coax, twinax, triax, quadrax or fibre-optic cables, the BKA series offers a range of contact termination sizes in crimp, wire-wrap or solder-tail styles.
