Outgassed Military/Space Grade Connectors

Space grade connectors must meet stringent tests for outgassing and residual magnetism, vibration and extreme temperatures and EMI-RFI shielding to seal out the environment. These connectors are suitable for use in mission-critical equipment within demanding harsh environments in aerospace and satellite communications as well as medical and high-performance military applications.

The outgassing process (also called gas-off) transforms a standard connector into a space grade connector. PEI has NASA-approved outgassing capabilities via our two in-house controlled, vacuum ovens. While outgassing normally takes weeks, we can fully outgas a connector in just 4 hours, which allows us to assemble, outgas, test, package and ship. We deliver test reports with every outgassed space grade connector.

We can outgas electroless nickel-plated versions of MIL-DTL-38999s, converting them into space grade Class G D38999s. We offer Class G D38999s from Amphenol and ITT Cannon. In addition to our in-house outgassing capability, we also stock ITT Cannon’s non-magnetic d-sub NM/NMB series space grade connectors.
