How do I find products online?

On the top of every page is a “PART NUMBER SEARCH” field. You can use this box to enter part numbers, portions of a part number and/or manufacturer’s names. Hit the "Enter" key to view your selection.

Clicking ADVANCED SEARCH (beneath the search box) opens another screen where you can limit your part number search to a specific manufacturer.

Some Tips for basic search:

Part Number “Starts with” - Enter the first portion of the part number you are looking for (you do not need to include any spaces, dashes). Click the ‘Go’ button. For example, enter MS3102E and hit ‘Enter’.  All part number beginning with MS3102E appear in alpha/numeric order.

Manufacturer/Part Number – Entering a portion of the manufacturer name and the first few characters of the part number separated by a space will allow you to search for specific Manufacturer part number combinations.  For example, enter CANNON DL.  All part numbers for manufacturer ITT Cannon starting with the letters DL will be listed. Enter Amphenol D38999 (or a portion of the manufacturer’s name, for example; amph D38999) and all Amphenol D38999 connectors will be shown. The Manufacturer name can be entered before or after the part number as long as it is separated by a space.

Manufacturer – You can enter the Manufacturer’s name in the “Part # Search” box.  For example, enter GLEN or GLENAIR and all Glenair items are listed in alpha/numeric order.

Exact Match - If you entered the complete part number you will be taken directly to the “Part Information” (detailed specifications) page for that product. There you will find product availability, specifications, links to more detail information, mating parts, associated items, and alternatives as well as a shopping cart and Quotation Request feature.



How do I find a product by a particular manufacturer?

At the top of any screen (just below the PART NUMBER SEARCH box), Select ADVANCED SEARCH.

You can limit your part number search to one or more manufacturers by checking the boxes next to the manufacturer's name. see “How do I find products on line” for more information.



How is Site Search different than Part Number Search??

The SITE SEARCH field appears at the top every screen and allows you to find text content anywhere on the site, but does not allow you to search part number availability or specifications.

PART NUMBER SEARCH finds only Part number specific information (see "How do I find Products on line").

To use SITE SEARCH enter your search into the box and hit the Enter key. This will open the Site Search panel and return results for  ALL WORDS ENTERED (in any sequence).  On the Site Search panel you can refine your search.  Here are some tips.

  • Search is always case insensitive. A search for [FAQ] is the same as a search for [faq].

Use the one of the three radio buttons to select the type of search you would like:

  • All Words – Finds content that contains ALL of the words entered (in any sequence). This is the default.
  • Any Words – Finds content with ANY of the words entered in any sequence.
  • Exact PhraseFind content containing the exact words in that exact order without any change. By insisting on phrase search you might be missing good results accidentally. For example, a search for [ "p-lok connector” ] will miss the pages that refer to P-Lok without the word connector immediately following.

Sequence your results

  • You can order your results using the drop-down menu. For example, “Most Popular”, Oldest to newest”, etc. Select your order and hit the SEARCH button to re-order the results.

To find part number specific information you must use the PART NUMBER SEARCH box to right of the SITE SEARCH.

What are Mating Parts?

MyPEI may suggest mating parts for connectors.  The mates shown are only a small number of the possible mates. What are Alternative Items?

MyPEI may suggest items that can be used in place of your selected item. Alternatives are suggested based on a general understanding of the types of applications for which such products are normally used. Responsibility for ensuring that any product is adequate, sufficient or suitable for any purpose remains with you, the Customer. Why do some items have detailed data, pictures, and weights, and some do not?

At this time, we do not have rich data loaded for all of these items.

We are continuously adding information to the site and you will find more and more items with rich data over time.



Why does my item say “No price found”?

In some cases we may be short a critical component necessary to build the product. In this case, we do not display pricing, nor do we allow you to purchase the item. Instead we allow you to use the “Quote” feature to request price and delivery information.

If you submit a request for quotation you will receive an email confirmation of the request and we will get back to you with price and availability, normally within 24 hours.

If you need immediate assistance, call or email your local sales office.  We can give you delivery information or recommend a viable substitute that will allow you to get parts tomorrow.

How do I find more detailed technical information about a product?

You can access additional technical information, including links to datasheets and design guides for many of our products on the product’s “Part Information” page (the detailed specification page).  To visit the manufacturer’s web site, select the manufacturer on the Left or Top menu and you will find a link to their site on the left side of the first page. We also have a team of Applications Engineers standing by to help. Contact our Applications Engineers now.



Why aren't there any results for my Part Number search?

Try using a smaller portion of the part number or the manufacturer’s name. If you are using a specific part number, ensure you are using 0 (Zero) and not O (or vice versa) and see if that works. We can build literally millions of items in 48 hours or less from our component stocks, but occasionally you may need something that we can’t build immediately. This may simply be because we don’t have the appropriate Bill of Material setup in our system or because we are short a critical component.

In most cases we can offer an alternative. We have a staff of highly qualified Applications Engineers standing by to help you.
